History Of Wojak NFTs
Before WaxDAO was ever launched, its creator launched a PFP collection called HoodPunks (it was the third generative PFP collection to ever exist on WAX). The plan was to eventually give these NFTs some utility, but several months went by before any major developments took place.
Eventually, WaxDAO was launched - and we felt that the HoodPunks had crappy art, and didn't really fit the theme of what we were going for. So, we launched a new collection and airdropped 1 NFT for each HoodPunks NFT in the wallets of existing holders.
The new collection was called waxywojaks (actually, it is a new schema, under the same collection as the original HoodPunks... the hoodpunknftscollection). There was originally a maximum supply of 10,000 NFTs, but after a while, we decided to burn any remaining unsold NFTs in order to decrease the supply, and reward early supporters of the project.
What Utility Do Wojaks Have?

Furthermore, each Wojak NFT is backed with WAXDAO tokens, which can be redeemed by burning the NFT. These WAXDAO tokens may be used for even more of our product offerings than the NFTs themselves.
WaxDAO Token Backing Explained
Each waxywojaksNFT was backed with 25,000 WAXDAO tokens a while back. As of October 8th, 2024, this backing started increasing by 0.6944 tokens per hour. This hourly increase will last until June 8th, 2026, making the maximum possible backing equal to 35,000 tokens. The longer you hold your NFT without burning it, the more tokens it will be backed with.
How Do I Burn My Wojak To Receive WaxDAO Tokens?
There is no specific place that you need to burn the NFTs in order to receive the token backing. Simply burn the NFT (you can do this on WaxDAO, AtomicHub, NeftyBlocks, NFT Hive or any other marketplace), and the tokens will automatically be transferred to your wallet.
If I Transfer My NFT To A Blend Contract, Will I Still Get The Tokens?
No, you must manually burn the NFT from your own wallet if you want to receive the backing. If you send your NFT elsewhere (for a blend/craft or anything else), you will not receive the WaxDAO tokens that it was backed with).
Where Can I Buy A Wojak, Is There A Drop?
The drop was halted a long time ago, and now the only place to buy Wojaks is on the secondary market.
